§ 7. Office of clerk and ex officio treasurer abolished; transfer of duties and powers.

  • The town council shall appoint a town clerk. The person so appointed shall not be a member of the council. The town clerk shall be the custodian of the official town seal, shall maintain the records of the town, and shall perform such other duties as may be required by the council. The town clerk shall serve at the pleasure of the council and the compensation of the town clerk shall be fixed by the council.
